Trivia
Everybody knows this logo, the famous 'I love New York', with the strong red heart in the middle. Often copied, or more chiquely spoken adopted, it has traveled all over the world.
Only few know the creator of it: the graphic designer and industrial designer Milton Glaser. He was born in 1929 in New York, visited there the Cooper Union Art School and has been active in various fields since the fifties. He designed posters, like the one with Bob Dylan with the colourful hair, worked as a designer and redesigner for well-known magazines like the New York Magazine and Paris Match and also got known as an interior decorator, for example with the redesign of the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center. Nowadays he mainly works in the field of editorial and corporate design. The New York logo, that has become worldfamous, got birth in 1973, when the city economicly did not prosper and wanted to improve its image. It is -as seen on the picture beneath- still 'wearable'.
