Trivia
The crest of Real Madrid consists of a decorative interlacing of the three initials of the club, "MCF" for Madrid Club de Fútbol. The royal crown denotes the patronage that King Alfonso XIII granted the club in 1920, which also shows in the "Real" part of the club's name.
Real Madrid traditional home colours are all white, although it initially adopted a blue oblique stripe on the shirt. The stripe was kept in the club crest.
The current form of the crest dates from 1941, with small cosmetic changes made in 2001.
