Just like the Schiphol logo the orange/red and blue together with the horizontal whitespace in between form the Dutch flag. The Dutch flag is red-white-blue, but is often accompanied by an orange vane. This is the orange color of the royal Dutch 'van Oranje' family. This also explains the crown in the Fokker logo.
