TriviaIn 1964 the International Wool Secretariat (IWS) sought an individual
image which would hold consumer confidence and represent quality
standards. An international competition was held and the Italian graphic
artist Francesco Saroglia of Milan won the right to design the logo -
the Woolmark.
The IWS was a wool industry agency of the
Australian Government. In 1997 the IWS changed it's name to the Woolmark
Company.
