Art Paul
Paul studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1940-1943) and at the Institute of Design of IIT (1946-1950).
Early 50s he was worked as a freelance designer. In 1953 he was contacted by Hugh Hefner who wanted a logo for his new magazine. Paul created the famous rabbit. Hefner was so pleased, he hired Paul to design the whole first edition of the Playboy magazine. He continued to work as Playboy's first art director as of 1954. He has been art director at Playboy for 30 years.
